Evans Takes Home First Win!
CMR Gets First Win of Season on Opening Night
Supply, NC (April 6, 2010) – Chad McCumbee Racing drivers, Terry Evans (28 years old out of Supply, NC) and Jeremy Frankoski (23 years old out of Huntersville, NC) had great showings at Myrtle Beach Speedway on April 3rd, 2010 as opening night began.
Double features were in order and with each being only thirty five laps, there was little to no time to mess around. Evans in the number 20 would qualify eighth and end up running fourth after the first thirty five laps were in the books. While Evans was running towards his first top five of the season; new driver, Jeremy Frankoski in the number 21, qualified fifth and worked his way deep into the top five. While battling for the third spot, Frankoski would get sideways and end up looping the car around. There was no real serious damage done to the car and after body work repair he was able to take the car back onto the track for an eighth place finish.
At the start of the next feature event, Terry Evans took the lead on lap one and would lead every lap in route to victory. His half of a straight away victory shows not only that Evans is a force to be reckoned with, but that CMR is on the road to a possible championship this year. Teammate, Jeremy Frankoski would end up finishing seventh in the second feature. With two races down the CMR group has already showed that they can win and not only win, but rebound from adversity and finish consistently near the front.
“I guess that's about the best way we could start a season, with a win! Terry did a great job and these guys on this CMR team that have put in so much dedication, they deserve it. We're going out there this year to compete for a championship and I think we have a shot. Jeremy also did a great job in his first race. For not having any experience in these late model stocks he really caught on fast. For him to show that much speed this early in the season I think we're going to have some 1-2 finishes this year.” – Chad McCumbee (Team Owner)
