CMR Announces 2010 Driver Lineup
Evans, Frankoski Make up Two Car Team
Supply, NC (March 16, 2010) – Chad McCumbee Racing’s Late Model Stock team is pleased to announce its 2010 driver lineup. After a successful 2009 season at Myrtle Beach Speedway CMR will expand to a full time two car operation at the legendary speedway. 2009 Myrtle Beach Speedway Rookie of the Year, Terry Evans will be back for year two with the Supply, NC based team. Evans won Rookie of the Year in the track’s premier division while collecting 10 top 5’s and 18 top 10 finishes throughout the year.
Evans will return to the CMR # 20 and will a few more resources coming his way with the help of a second full time car driven by rookie Jeremy Frankoski. Frankoski will take over the # 21 car for the team which Chad himself drove in select events in 2009. Jeremy is coming off a stellar 2009 himself as he was crowned the USAC Ford Focus Midget Series Carolina Champion. With experience ranging from the USAC and NEMA Series midgets to 600 Mini Sprints, Frankoski should be well prepared for the tough task of sliding around the slick Myrtle Beach Speedway.
“It’s really gratifying when you build something up and start to see it growing stronger and stronger,” said CMR owner/driver Chad McCumbee. “It’s great to have Terry back again and to have Jeremy join us. I like when plans come together. I really didn’t know what to expect last year, but there has been nothing but positive come out of this program. It feels really cool to be able to help others do what they love doing and further their career. This is a tough sport and knowing you can help someone with a driver development type program means a lot,” stated McCumbee. “The excitement and expectations are really high for 2010 and I can’t wait to get it going. We’re going out there to win the championship and another rookie of the year. I know we’ve set the goals high but it will make us all work harder and make it happen.
Evans feels a championship is in reach this season. “We learned so much each time we run last year and I think we have applied some really good stuff to kick off this year,” he stated. “I hope we can get to victory lane early and just continue to build this program up farther and farther. It will be great to have a team car there to bounce ideas off of and share notes each week. We should be really strong.”
Even though Frankoski has no Late Model Stock experience he has set his standards high. “I’m really excited about the opportunity to work with CMR this season,” the rookie explained. “It is a historic facility and Chad and his team have had a lot of success there. I am looking forward to growing with them and adding to the team’s success in 2010.”
Preseason testing will begin soon for Chad McCumbee Racing along with all the other Myrtle Beach Speedway regulars. The first season race will be on Saturday, April 3 with all divisions kicking off 2010 at the famed speedway. Keep up with the progress of CMR on the web at www.chadmccumbee.com.
